Trauma-informed yoga is a pressure-free movement and breathing practice that prioritises the person's own boundaries, choices and comfort.
At the heart of the approach are a safe environment, predictability and the participant's sense of control. There are no demanding poses or impositions; each step is in the nature of an invitation.
The core principles of the practice:
Accompanied by a physiotherapist, breathing and movement work is carried out at a pace suited to the person. The participant may pause at any time; progression is determined entirely according to the person's comfort.
This practice does not replace psychological counselling or therapy. Where needed, collaboration with the relevant specialist and physician is recommended.
In a free preliminary consultation (15 min) your questions are answered; if appropriate, a detailed assessment (60 min) is planned.
