Chronic pain is pain that persists beyond the expected healing period (generally three months) and is often not linked to a single cause; many physical, functional and life-related factors play a part together.
For this reason, the assessment is carried out with a holistic perspective. The diagnosis and any necessary medical investigations are conducted by a physician; physiotherapy is planned as a part of this process.
What is addressed in the assessment:
A gradual, personalised programme based on a pain, movement and daily-life assessment is applied. The priority is to safely increase movement capacity and to support daily function.
Throughout the process, realistic goals are set and the programme is updated together as progress is made. The aim is to support the management of pain and quality of life.
In a free preliminary consultation (15 min) your questions are answered; if appropriate, a detailed assessment (60 min) is planned.
